Intercooler CFM efficiency
When I had a guy mount my IC and fab up the charge pipes he cut the endtanks off the side and relocated them to the back. Is that going to hurt how well the IC flows? With normal mounting, the air can flow straight through the IC and use the nice smooth bends of the piping to make its 90 degree turns, now its a very abrubt turn.
Two sides of the story.
If the end tanks are facing your engine, most likely your charge pipes are significantly shorter. Which is obviously a plus because the chance of pressure drop or temperature of the air in the charge pipes dropping will lower.
The flip side is the flow with be more abrupt and not as smooth causing some extra turbulance.
Which is better?
I doubt either or will cause really noticible differences.
