Default Intercooled JRSC?

Any body ever had their JRSC manifold intercooled by LHT? Where they port it and it has one canistor on each side and and is intercooled by means of liquid. How is it? I heard it is supposed to add 20hp or so.

OK, I usually just read but now I am posting for once.... I read everything on this site for the past couple years regarding JRSC, and specially regarding intercooling them. I have read alot about the miracle "LHT" intercooler. I have even spoke with John at LHT a couple months ago. HOWEVER....I have never seen any results posted about a "customer" from LHT having the intercooler mod. So, before anybody (including me) puts any cash torwards any LHT mods lets see some results. Customer cars, not LHT shop cars...Stop posting links to BS and start posting results!!

My tuner has one and he said it really didnt add horsepower but its ALOt more effiecient because it dropped ine intake temp. Its a JRSC GSr running 10lbs

another third person perspective. Everybody has heard of somebody with one but nobody that actually owns one posts about it (besides john from LHT). Can someone who actually has purchased one post there results, not their brothers, cousins, uncles, friends, dude they know from the arcade....ect. I am not trying to disrespect LHT but I would like to hear some real world results.

I agree. And if it drops intake temps, that means you should be able to add some timing and pull off a more aggressive tune without running the risks you typically would without the IC. Therefore it WOULD make a difference powerwise.

I would like to see some real world results from some of the guys who have bought it as well. Whats wrong with you people, you spend $1200 on an IC for your $2500 JRSC and dont drop some extra cash on quality tuning and before/after dynos?!

Ill have some REAL results soon..

I dynoed my R at 247WHP and 170 WTQ last year at 10 PSI t
This year I got a custom Spearco liquid cooled set up....
Should be ready i about 2-3 months tho...

Then you will all know the truth about Liquid cooled set ups!!!!

if someone on honda-tech had one, trust me, you'd hear about it. i remember there was one guy awhile back on hostboard (The link i posted above) that was replying to a thread and answering our questions because he had an LHT unit. do a search on hostboard and you'll probably find what i'm talking about. also, user "mgro" on hostboard has the LHT intercooler but has yet to install it. his plans are to do it this spring, and he has said he will provide before and after dynos. i agree with you guys though, $1000 is a lot of money to spend on something you dont know the results of.

i have a liquid/air intercooled JRSC (not LHT)
i built my own!!
its a 92 civic hatch
GSR motor @ 10psi
dynoed at 250whp and 187 tq on a mustang dyno
these numbers where while doing some mild tuning after about a good dozen passes, with only tap water!! no ice!,tell you the truth you couldnt touch the pipe that comes out of the blower(way too hot) and the pipe that comes from the cooler into the manifold was only luke warm!
my tuner (www.tappauto.com) told me that we were running pretty high duty cycles on my 450cc injectors,so we stopped there!
i will go back this spring with bigger injectors, and do some passes with ice in the intercooler's reservoir!
i'll try to get my dyno results sheet scanned, to stop the skeptical people!

Looking at those LHT pics....looks like it's just a finned tube then put inside the "manifold" and water goes through this tube. So the air would just get cooled by the tube?

Usually the air passes by the finned parts to get cooled.

this has been discussed in previous LHT threads, but those tubes are actually cores with fins. do a google search on the company "laminova". they're one make of such a cooler, although i believe LHT uses a different brand. these are very efficient cores that create minimal pressure drops. you are correct though, if they were just pipes, there would be little to none cooling effect
