Integra: Is It Trouble to Turbo?
Hey guys,
I'm thinking of turbocharging my car. I'm just in the beginning stages, but I'm wondering what all I would need to do? From what I've picked up so far, I would need a turbo kit and turbo manifold and to sell my recently aquired Comptech 4-2-1 Headers? What are some good turbo's? How much $ am I looking at spending all told with this adventure? I have a 1995 Integra with 138,000 miles on the odo... is this a foolish endeavour? Would it be wise to build up my engine to handle the extra stress? What parts would I need to replace to get my car back to reasonable-mileage-toughness? Not that I've had problems ever or anything runs like a champ . What kind of gains would I be looking at? Would I need to swap out my Comptech catback exhaust for something larger too?
Thanks,
Ben
... yeah, so basically I can rephrase my entire post as "What is the cheapest way to turbocharge my Integra LS?"
Heh, the simplicity...

Re: Integra: Is It Trouble to Turbo? (mr_mbuna)
I think its worth it
you could piece together a turbo kit for as little as $1000 http://coolazz.tripod.com/turbo.html
And brand new kit would cost $2500 and up.
Very decent hp #'s for a tuned GSR with stock compression is about 240 hp
Im assuming for an LS it would be about 200 hp
There will be a considerable increase in maintenance with a turbo

Re: Integra: Is It Trouble to Turbo? (SO3Burner)
before i say anything
just remember this 1 simple rule
Cheap, Reliable or Fast.
you can only choose 2. you will never have the 3rd.
with that being said yes you can put together a turbo kit for 1000$ im spending about 2000$ on the first stage of my setup (just the essientals, no electronics like gauges, boost contrller, turbo timer, or an exhaust..maybe an exhaust)
