Comptech Exhaust on Turbo Setup?
I recently put a full Comptech exhaust setup on my Integra. I've been reading about turbo's the last few days because my buddy got a 2000 Audi A4 1.8T and sparked my interest and a DIY turbo setup seems like a good way to go for me. I've read that you should have a 3" exhaust setup for a turbo car, but since I just put my Comptech exhaust on I'm wondering what kind of boost you can run with the Comptech exhaust? I know I would have to get rid of my new 4-2-1 Headers and put in a turbo manifold, but I was hoping to be able to keep the new Carsound catalytic converter and catback exhaust. How much boost would I have to run to get 200 hp out of my Integra LS, and could I run that much boost through the Comptech exhaust? If not, are there any QUIET 3" exhausts?
Thanks,
Ben

comptech will restrict your hp by about 10, and take that cat off. get a straight pipe, you're not in claifornia!
sell your comptech and put your stock on until you're turbo. then get a 3".

Re: Comptech Exhaust on Turbo Setup? (sutrusu)
Are there any cats that will work with a 3" turbo setup? I really don't want to pump nasty **** into the air. And what are the quietest 3" exhausts? Are there any 3" exhausts that don't look like coffee cans on the end?
Thanks,
and I ask because I don't know,

Yes, you can get a 3" high-flo cat. I know SMSP offers them. And I think any 3" exhaust is gonna be pretty loud, although Thermal R&D offers a "stealth" model. They also have several muffler styles if I remember correctly..

Ya comptech sucks. I had it on for a few months before I got a 3in. The 3in is soo much better. If your looking for a good quiet setup I would say the Thermal. I did a custom Apex N1, its cheaper and looks better IMO. Though it is louder than the thermal its not that annoying.

Well, the N1 sound is really not the sound I am going for here. I bought the Comptech because it was high-quality and it was relatively quiet. And even it seems loud to me. How is it that cars come from the factory with turbo's and no 3" exhausts? Basically, if I continue to use my Comptech exhaust it will work, I will just be sacrificing 10 hp of benefit (that's okay, i'll just boost a bit more, right?)?
