Default Intake temperature sensor on B16A

Hey guys...

I have a intercooler turbocharged B16A and I was wondering what you guys actually do with the Intake Temperature Sensor...

Currently I'm using a K&N conical filter and I the intake temperature was just after that. The ECU was retarding the ignition and leaning the misture due "higher" temperatures on Intake, so I moved the sensor to the front bumper and the car is smoother and actually making more power than before.

What would be the best/correct place to put this sensor? Any tips?

The stock position is no more.

I've removed the air box and original air intake, my turbo piping is going thru that hole...

This is a picture of my current setup:

Better to leave after the K&N or relocate it to where the older air intake was?

Stock position meaning close to the throttle body. You want the computer to fuel the motor based on the air temp going into the engine, not the turbo.

wouldn't it blow out under boost? Also, if you convert to obd1 doesn't that eliminate the IAT?

wrong sir. I tapped mine into my charge pipe. works great. you drill a 5/8" hole, take a rubber grommet from an AEM intake and seal it in with some silicon sealant. then seal the IAT sensor to the rubber grommet when you put it in and presto....its in there. I ran 14.5 psi of boost and it didnt blow out. I still pull 20 inches of vaccumm.
