intake temp sensor d16y8
what do i do with the intake temp sensor on the intake few inches from the tb on a d16y8 once im boosted (soon)
i got a ebay cai as my upper charge pipe so it already has the spot for it, i've been told to just let the sensor hang, also been told to keep it in the intake, (probly jb weld it in)
its a 96 coupe ex w/p28 and obd2 - obd1 harness, probly runnin uberdata

this is what i did. extend the wires out and run it on the underside of the intake before the tb. i bolted mine on first then went back and jb welded it

Re: intake temp sensor d16y8 (7808)
Install it some where on the charge pipe after the intercooler so it gets a correct air temp reading. Installing it in the intake for the turbo will give your engine a false air temp reading.

Wouldn't this cause inaccurate temp reading since the intake air temp would be different from the compressed air temp. Or is the difference negligible?
*edit* nevermind. saw H-T already answered my question.

Re: (igo4bmx)
I read that it should be on the upper charge pipe right before the TB just like the stock location, cause otherwise you won't get an accurate reading after the air is compressed in the turbo (making it hotter). Greddy put the IAT sensor grommet on the intake pipe to the turbo, but I'm gonna weld that hole up and drill a new one on the upper charge pipe to get a more accurate reading.

DO NOT leave it dangling. That is a terrible decision because it will throw things off on the tune.
I'm not sure if you can see it or not, but I used the grommet from my old aem cai and drilled a hole in the charge pipe. If you drill the hole small enough it will hold fine. Mine is very hard even to pull out by hand and boost doesn't budge it. Try shoving it in your intake arm you are running for a charge pipe.

That's exactly what you should do. Leave it in the hole provided by the AEM intake. I have mine epoxied in place to keep it from popping out.
