Default Intake On Supercharger?

Hey guys I just bought a 96 GS-R with a Jackson Racing Supercharer running 9-10lbs of boost. The car has a DC Sports Header, Greddy SP2 Cat back Exhaust and AEM CAI.

One of my friends who is an avid Honda person told me that I would benefit from a short ram intake instead of my cold air intake. Is this true, is there any dyno proof? Can someone explain to me which would be better a Cold Air or Short Ram on a super charged application and why?

short ram for better throttle response, CAI for better top end. that is the GENERAL concensus

the blower doesnt like the long tubed intakes, the air is too turbulent. A short and fat intake is what you want for the jrsc.

i will go with J's Racing Intake System either you can get it carbon fiber or just plastic or whatever is made of.
it cost around $289 or $350(carbon fiber)

If I were running a jrsc (wish i was ) I would either get my own 3 inch shorty made, or run a comptech intake (jrsc specific) with the icebox, or yea an aem would work too. The icebox would be the best though, because you have the benefits of a cold air because of the snorkel, but the filter is in the engine bay in the box, so the air does not have to travel as far (the turbulent factor with the aem cai) so it is the best of both. hope i have helped, good luck and let me know what you end up going with.

Appreciate the info. Odds are I'm going to end up with an AEM SRI since I work for an online Import Store I can get this at cost.

yeah, if i had a SC, i would get a fat short ram intake and enclose it in some type of airbox while routing cool air into the box.

a short 3" intake seemed to be what I came up with hands down when I searched on this before. Was there a intake called a "thompson tube" too? looks similiar to J's I think. But when you really see it you'd think its a over priced piece of plastic.

Man.. I've been trying to find info on this J's Racing Intake and cant find it anywhere. Can someone tell me where I can actually purchase it and maybe read about it? Even a search is coming back with nothing.

The compressed, non intercooled air from a blower is already hot enough thats why I wouldn't bother with a "hot air" intake.

i did a search under js racing intake rather than j's racing intake and it came up with a bunch of stuff so check that out. I used to have a fake one and it had decent throttle response.
