installing a turbo kit
If i just use the helms manual for my car, would the Drag turbo kit be hard to install or should i just bite the bullet and have somebody install else it.
Also what is the meaning behind the ratios in the fmu's (ie. 8:1, 12:1). Is there one that would be better to use on a drag genII kit on a d16y8

The 12:1 is a ratio that means for every 1psi of boost, the fmu will increase the fuel pressure 12psi. So if you are running 5psi, multiply that times 12 =60psi. So then you add idle fuel pressure 38-46psi. Lets say 46psi+60psi = 106psi total fuel pressure.

I have heard that the Vortech 12:1 FMU included in the Drag kit will always make you run a little rich but can be corrected with a fuel controller(Apexi S-AFC or V-AFC). You probably don't need to worry about it unless you want to upgrade with larger injectors or an in-tank fuel pump, then you would want to run with a 10:1 or an 8:1.
so by using to 8:1 my fuel pressures will be lower, but is that neccessarily a good thing? Thanks in advance

thanks. that is just what i wanted to hear. so the turbo install should be straight forward then. It was just that question on the fmu that i wanted to get cleared up.
