Installed a walbro 255, things are going wrong..
So in trying to get my car ready for the turbo setup we decided to install some fuel goodies this weekend. We installed a ge fuel rail, aem fpr, and a walbro 255. Problem is the car is bogging now, car needs to be revved to start and stay alive when it comes to a full stop. The idle is getting wierd, its under 1k im guessing around 800 - 900 rpm's but it bounces between there and almost dieying out.
We installed this on stock injectors and the fuel pressure gauge is reading 40psi.
Is the reason for the problem the stock injectors? Any help will be much apprecaited.

Thats what i'm thinking, usually those pumps raise your static fuel pressure so you are most likely runing to rich

your running to rich lower the pressure, you have a fuel pressure guage right?

dood you dont just put an fpr on and go you have to adjust it , did you not read the directions????

pull out the pump again and check the connections and all for any bad connects, etc. had a friend hook his up and had same problem....was because intank connect was loose so it couldnt build up enough pressure at idle AT THE PUMP...not the rail...at the pump so it couldn't flow enough fuel.
we havent noticed and leaks or anything, and the wiring seems fine. All signs point to the fact its running rich, so were gona start turning the fuel pressure down. Ill post results later. thank you for the replys.
i think i had mine set to 36psi with the hose on...idled fine.
But yea, try to lower the fuel pressure. It does sound like your running to rich.

wierd as it sounds, we dummed mine down to around 30 to 31 psi. and its running better now. Still need to tap the gas to start it, but its better none the less.
My timing is a bit advanced, would that in anyway contribute to this problem?

30-31 seems low to me... I was running 40psi with my sohc on stock injectors, stock ecu, walbro 255 and AEM FPR. My helms says ~31-38psi with vacuum and ~40-47psi with no vacuum. That's on a sohc. Did you make sure the nipple in the FPR is not obstructed? Mine was clogged for weeks until I found out. Caused the car to bog and hesitate under partial throttle... My $.02

we did this, plugs came out fine. No signs of running lean or rich on them.
