ok my inspection is like 3 days from being expired and i need to have it done, the guy that usualy does that kind of "inspection" said that he wont be able to do it cause my car is a 99 (prelude) and is supposed to be obd2 while i obviosly switched to obd1 (p72) so 3 questions:
1. how does everyone get passed having obd1 when they are supposed to be obd2
2. does anyone know a place around philadelphia where i can get "passed"
3. if i were to plug in my stock ecu will the car idle fine? what i mean is, bring it to the shop, take out the p72 and plug in my stock ecu, turn the car on. will that screw anything up with my internals?
all help is very appriciated!!

put stock injectors back in, and put stock ecu back in. if you're boosted, disconnect a charge pipe or something so you don't boost and don't rev it higher than you must to drive to get it inspected. if they're really strict (under the hood stuff, etc) then you need to put everything back to stock. not sure what the rules in PA are though

well they know that im boosted and they know its a bullshit inspection so they dont care whats under the hood, but i totaly forgot bout dissconnecting the charge pipe, but would i really have to put the stock injectors back in? i cant just plug in the ecu and let it idel? its just so much work to get the old injectors back in there
u trying to pass with turbo? If so, dont think u can do it.. the only way to pass is put everything to stock.. Unless u know someone can do it under the table..

the stock ecu cant control bigger inejctors. you would have to go back to stock ecu and injectors or you would be running horribly lean. i doubt it would even idle and you def cant drive on it like that. it should only take you about a hour or so to swap the stockers back in.

you definitely need to use stock injectors. when you converted to OBD1 did you have to change any wiring under the hood? (iacv, dizzy?) if so you'll have to put those back to stock as well.
also, you can't just pop in the OBD2 ECU at the test station and pass. An OBD2 ECU has multiple "readiness codes" which need to be set by driving the car in different manners before you will pass the computer test.
install stock ecu/injectors/map sensor, remove wastegate spring, drive around a couple of days (gently) to set the readiness codes, then go get tested and you will pass.

i know someone who can do it under the table thats not the problem, the problem is that they cant do it for me this time only cause my car is supposed to be obd2 and is now obd1,
and if i were to put the stock ecu in, im not planning to drive on it at all, just start the car so they can plug it into the obd2 reader and thats it, turn it off and hook up the obd1 ecu back....
the only reason i say its going to take a hella long time to put the stock injectors back on is cause i have to rewire the clips, and im pretty sure one of my stock injectors is broken

you can't pass that way:

I have to do this in Massachusetts, same thing: No visual, but you have to pass the computer test. You won't pass unless the readiness codes are set.

Dude... DO WHAT NOTORIOUSB TOLD YOU TO DO
stock ecu, stock injectors, stock map sensor, no wastegate spring, drive around for a few days gently.
and don't forget about that secondary o2 sensor for the cat (d'oh!) without it you'll throw a CEL and never pass...

im not trying to pass legally!!!!!! i never have, my usual shop that always passed me cant do it cause they got their licience taken away and the other place that was gonna do it for me said they cant cause the car is now obd1 instead of obd2, i dont know the reasoning behind that but they just said they cant....
what im really looking for is another place that can pass me without giving me **** or me having to chance or take anything off

Not to down you but OBD2 cars cannot be passed anymore unless they are stock. Most states now require any obd2 car to be plugged in to check all the sensors. Unlike the obd1 which was just put on an emissions rack. Good luck. Maybe PA is different but I think its federally mandated for 96 and up cars to be plugged in.
illegaly, and they lost there licsense
i think what the new shop wants is to be able to read the sensors throw your computer. I don't know though, they obviously care about something though. I had an old car read, to see if my secondary o2 sensor was bad, and the guy asked me if i had it chipped or something, because he couldn't communicate with it. I'm guessing its something along those lines. If they have to start your car up, it won't idle those injectors. Plus, if its true that the computer has to calibrate itself, i dunno. If all they want to do is to plug it in and make sure all the sensors are still there, then you could be all set.

Please listen to everyone else in this thread. Take out your bigger injectors. Put in your stock OBD2 ecu so they can plug it into the emssions bullshit machine so they can pass you. End of story. Anyone can pass the visual inspection, but they have to plug your car in, with an OBD2 ecu so you can pass emissions.

You're a ******* unappreciative homo, and you did not legally pass inspection. Shut your ******* mouth and stop posting here if you do not want people to respond and attempt to help your stubborn expletive ***.

Actually I dont think you posted that question at all.
