Default input on turbo

been looking at alot of turbos and my budget is 650.00 . i feel like i could get a decent turbo for that . my set up is a b16a stock except for itr cams . have a ar.50 on it now looking for something better . tell me what you think of this ad for a turbonetics , pasting info here and pics let me know if this is a good turbo to use on my car . help is appreciated . oh he says it is a ball bearing turbo , is it ?

I bought this turbo for my STI swap 6 months ago, but I am not going to get to that project this year. This turbo would work great for any 4-6 cyl. application. I am using the same one on my 500 hp Honda Prelude and it works great. This is the 60:1 High-fi with tough kit added and billet cold-side backing plate. The turbo is brand new never installed.
60-1 Fullsize / F1-62 .58 A/R

450-550 HP
Representing the careful marriage of a unique high-flow /high-efficiency compressor section teamed up with a T4 turbine section, the 60-1 has proven itself in every competitive motorsport application from drag racing to Bonneville. Available with either the standard (4" inlet, 2.5" discharge) compressor housing or the 60-1 Hi-Fi (2.75" inlet, 2" discharge) compressor housing, the 60-1 will outflow any standard T04B with ease! The 60-1 Hi-Fi will deliver approximately 90-95% of the flow capacity of the standard 60-1.

aid 1200.00 for it new from turbonetics.

You do realize that it has a T4 turbine housing right? Your manifold would have to have a T4 flange on it for this to work.

Otherwise this is a decent turbo for the price and would probably be good to around 450-500whp, which is a bit more than you would want to push a stock B16 anyway.

Just be careful buying parts like this from individuals as you never know what could have happened to it, even though its supposedly new. I'm pretty sure you can get a very similar turbo from a reputable dealer with a warranty for about the same price.

how much power are you looking for?
Do you want fast spool or high revving power?
Do you plan on building up the motor later for more power?

Why dont you just keep the one you have? looks like a good clean setup. You can gain some HP by putting a breather system on there.....

sounds good like the set up big d speaks of . now as far as injectors which kind do i need ? shodan was speaking of different kinds recommending to stay 660cc and under . do i need a resistor box ? what independance , and saturated or not , also what size wastegate. i think once i get these three things right i will do the work and find a good tuner to finish it out .

The main reason why I stated the size under 660cc was reliant on what you told me your power goals were. I know that some like to throw 1000cc injectors in a 350whp car for "room to grow", or "why not, since they are the same price" attitude, but remember, you also don't want to just pour fuel into the system. The tuner has to do a bit more work to get the larger sizes to work smoothly with the power goals that you want. If you truly plan on growing then yes I can see the argument, but most of the time, it isn't necessary.

As for Impedence, There are some companies that use large injectors in the same impedence range of ohms like the stock honda (after 91). Stock hondas come with saturated (high impedence over 11.2ohms) while most of the larger injectors are Peak & hold (low impedence b/w 2 & 10ohms). For larger injectors, most come in low impedence, and I don't like the fact that the pintles are modified from their original design to accept a different amount of resistance, when a resistor box can be used. RC does make larger saturated injectors, but considering what is modified, there is a substantial risk of failure for those modifications. So with all that being said, I'd use the low impedence w/ resistor box, anything over 440cc..

so your saying that any turbo injector 440cc and under i can use with out a resistor box . high independance or low independance for 440cc and under . think i will go witha 550 to 650cc injector low independance with resistor box . any reccomendations on this ? thanks again .
