input please... b16aT early rev limiter... 7k??
hey guys.
i'm all of the sudden having an issue with my rev limiter.
i just got the car tuned by a reputable shop here on the east coast (canada), revving to 8500rpm on the dyno. there weren't any problems tuning all day, and no problems on the 5hr drive back home afterward.
couple of days later, i went to a test&tune session at our local track, and since the first pass i made, the car has been having an early rev limiter. it consistantly kicked in at 7k, and it's never done anything like that before.
i changed out the plugs first, and most of the time, it was still limiting at 7k, with the occasional run up to 7300-7500, and one run went straight to 8500 as it should.
we just changed out my ignitor last night, and now the car is revving consistantly to 7500, so it's a little better?!
is there anything else i should be looking into to clear this up?
i'm going to ask the tuner to burn me another chip, just in case there was an error in mine for some reason. we tried lifting the program from the chip, and copied it onto another one with the limiter completely disabled, but it didn't help the issue.
setup includes obdo b16a, ATP gt28rs, tuned with BRE, if it helps.
thoughts?
any input is greatly appreciated.

yeah, i'm going to have to ask the tuner to send me another chip, since reading and reburning from the existing chip isn't helping.
i've never had a good chip/burn go bad all of the sudden before though.
seems odd.

yeah, the difference in sound and power is pretty obvious the odd time it does rev up to it's normal limiter.
i've had this car for a long time and know the engine note very well.
also, it'll rev up to 8500 in neutral sometimes, but has a little stumble at 7500 before going the rest of the way.
my plugs are gapped at .32 right now as well, although i'm not sure if they should be any tighter since they were fine that way for a while.
