Default Innovative wideband install

Hey I just got an XD-1 standalone and was reading thru the install instructions and I was wondering. I have a primary and secondary o2 sensor but the secondary is just zip tied to the frame or I get a code, so im going to use that bung for the wideband. When I wire up the sensor heater and heater ground for the wideband, do I just ground to the frame and use a 12v power source or do I cut the ground and sensor heater from the secondary and tap them together?
