yeah so are they going to "take care of" the customers of mine who sent in turbos for repair and pretty much got completely screwed! They are out the cost of the turbo since innovative kept their turbos...and then closed the doors without ever returning them...bunch of crooks!!!
If you need your turbo rebuilt take it and put it on ebay. Then buy a garrett or turbonetics or borg warner unit....at least you know your going to be dealing with a company with a solid foundation and solid financial backing.

i agree with every part of that statement except turbonetics, nothing but trouble for me, there seals are garbage. i put them in the same boat as innovative as far as quality goes...

thats just f'ing great. I was wondering why i didn't see them at the PRI show, i was ready to bring in my turbo still dripping oil for their booth.
You said they will be rebuilding the ITS turbos, are they going to be actually fixing their shitty seal problem?

there is nothing wrong with your dripping , leaky turbo. You must have a high oil pressure problem or your drain line is to small. Another possible cause might be...hmmm...can you hold on a second.........2 minutes go by and you get a dial tone.
God only knows how many times I heard that one.

i have had problems with them also, trust me!joe rebuilt mine with the new v2 carrier and 800 miles later its still good to go.i put mine up for sale on ebay just because of this mess.i want to keep it but im selling it before something happens.

it could also be crank case pressure not letting the return drain fast enogh and it backing up and blowing the seals..
a good catch can setup is priceless..
and not the ebay can with the one valve cover tube going to it.... @ least 1 -10An lines off the valve cover vented

nope, i held up my end of the deal, its the seals. crank case was vented, 3an feed with a .038 restrictor, 10an return. return is high on the pan.
i wouldn't bash a company if the problem was partially my fault, but i have a smaller turbonetics as a back up and it runs on the same exact parts/ motor has thousands more miles on it and is still fine my innovative has less than 1k miles and its ready for its 3rd rebuild because of the exh side oil seal

The rear seal is not the only problem your turbo has. The oil is leaking becasue the rotating assyembly has to much play in it. The rear seal as you call it is just a ring that looks like a piston ring and it has a installed gap of .012-.016. Also the seal bore has to have a good crisp egde for the ring to seal against and if there is wear on the bearings or rotating parts it causes this ring to start to move around and once it does that it is over. The bore becomes egg shaped and the crisp edge is warn off so the ring can't keep the oil in the bearing housing. During normal operation the oil level is a little less then half way up the rear seal. Normaly a rebuild does not last long and then it is right back smoking and leaking oil again.

one of my dumbass friends had his turbo rebuilt by them 5 times and it still smokes like a crack *****. i dont understand why he would have done that. oh well.
we were an innovative dealer for a while. i used one of their turbos on my car and it was absolutely horrible, and another one that was on another friends car. i told him how much mine sucked so he sold it and got something a little nicer.
that whole dealer thing was a waste of time. i refused to sell that crap

For a while i thought ITS made some pretty decent stuff...i never heard too many bad things about them. Now this thread appeared and my opinion changed A LOT.

odd, its pretty tight, less play than my buddies 42r, and supposivly the last time i sent it in they put in their new f2 centersection and it still did the same thing. I'll def be stepping up to the s372 eventually, just sucks of how much i'm losing on this pos

Replacing the bearings makes it feel tight but it does not fix the wear in the bearing housing where the rear piston ring goes this requires replacing the bearing housing or machining it out and installing a new seal bore.

oh i see, well supposively the whole centersection was changed last time so it given its a new part the bore should have be true. I got an idea, wanna trade for one of your 372s, 2200 dollar turbo and i'd assume you guys have the proper tooling to fix it

Sounds very familiar. I had a customer run a pt67 and it went to crap in about 400 miles. They took 9 months to rebuild it. 200 miles later it went out again on him and the smoking was right back to before.
