Default injectors for race gas

the last thing i need for the upgrade on my car is injectors. right now i have a set of precision 1000s and looking for something more reliable and that can handle the extra fuel. what injectors are you guys running with race gas? my goal is to be around 600-650hp on my sc61.

That looks like King's dyno in the picture. Any 900-1000cc Bosch Ev14 injector will be enough, barely, but will work fine (ID1000, FIC 900, Five-O 900 - all the same). A few have started selling some 1100cc EV14's. I know someone who's tuned them before, and work great. Other types have a very poor spray pattern, or don't react well to higher fuel pressures. The 1600cc and 2200cc Bosch (ID2200, etc) have seals/seats that swell with fuel temp AND some chemicals in most race gas.

I've heard some tuners say they've had more than a few sets from a certain brand be as much as 10% off (unmatched from each other). I've also seen people have their sets be tested and be far off from the initial flow sheet and poorly matched (well over 1% difference).

Send me a PM if you want more detailed info.

Do you need more injector? No reason to go way bigger if you aren't making the power... A lot of times larger injectors don't like lower pulsewidths so they idle like **** and run weird at low load/rpm

but if you ditch the 1000s... I want em :p

well i should be in the 600hp range when i switch over to vp112 fuel, but it sounds like the id1000s and fic1100 hi-z's should be fine for that.

i will be getting rid of the precision 1000s though.

I would think with a good fuel pump setup the id1000 would work. How much can your pump increase the fuel psi?

assuming a base pressure of 42 psi you were using roughly 215lph of fuel at that power level... thats basically where things start to decrease as pressure goes up... thats pretty much the reasonable limit of the pump

600whp would be maxing out 900cc's at 3bar of fuel pressure, assuming pump gas. Race gas makes a bit more power per "squirt" than pump gas. 900's with a bit more pressure and race gas should get to 650whp, if you use the larger pump. The nice thing about the Bosch injectors is you can crank the fuel pressure.

The FIC 1150's are just as responsive as the ID1000's people have seen lots of, but flow 25% more fuel when tested the same way. ID1000's actually flow ~880-900cc when tested with Heptane-N.

by my calculations 548 is the limit for pump gas on 900cc injectors.
1000s would get to 604
1150s would be 701

this is assuming 80% max duty cycle and a BSFC of .50
