Injector sizing questions
I am building a B20VTEC w/ Drag gen 3 kit (T3/T4E I think), JE 9:1 pistons , 255lph fuel pump, Hondata. I want to boost around 8 or so daily but capable of 15-18. What size injectors do I need and how much hp can I make? I already bought 550's but I'm worried about them being too small. Thanks

Re: Injector sizing questions (magicwand)
he gave you the link. you just need to come up with some reasonable numbers for the calculator on the bottom of the page and see about where your injector requirements fall

Re: Injector sizing questions (racerxadam)
1) Do a search.
2) Injector size is based on HP, not amount of boost or engine size. Note DSM's they can run 18PSI on the stock turbo on a 2.0L engine and not need bigger than 450cc injectors, b/c they don't make more then about 250 or so HP in this state. However in your case you'll prolly be ok running 8psi or so on the 550's, maybe 10 psi. If you want to go any higher than that you're prolly looking at 720cc'rs.
Go to http://www.rceng.com and check it out.
I'm running 450cc injectors on a turbo LS setup. Though through my tuning and such i've found that i'm running close to 85% duty cycle on the top-end. Which means i'm prolly maxing out the HP(-300HP) capabilities of my injectors. This at only 10 Psi of boost......

Re: Injector sizing questions (Speed PHreak)
sorry to even post this ****...guess I'll do a fuggin SEARCH...althought ALL this **** is the same repetitive bullshit... I was just looking for some one who really knows, like a dyno tuner, about my particular setup...Too many people talk out their *** about what they think they know but really don't...All I know is when you spend $10-15K in add-ons on a $5000 dollar car ,you want to get it right and just really don't want to depend on some broke-*** *****'s idea of what HE THINKS will work.....Thanks for ****

Re: Injector sizing questions (magicwand)
Ok, you ****. I gave you the exact answer that you were looking for. You wanted to know if the 550cc's would be ok, I gave more thought and time to answering your question than anyone else was going to bother too. Well instead of take the accurate info I provided, you just chucked that and focused on that fact that someone wasn't gonna do it all for you. This "broke *** *****-******" wasn't one that payed $20,000+ on his car and doesn't know a damn thing about how to tune it, or what it's capabilities are. Just becuase you have money running out your ******* doesn't mean you have a lick of god-damn intelligence.
Sorry I couldn't pull the exact amount of HP and TQ for your engine out of my ***. But upon further contemplation you will make EXACTLY:
295.67 HP @ 7400 RPM
257.82 TQ @ 6000 RPM
@ 8psi.
With 95 degree's and 60% humidity factor

Re: Injector sizing questions (Speed PHreak)
Sorry, I wasn't directing the dumb or broke *** comment to any one in particular. And NO I don't have money running from my ***..I have actually been collecting parts for about 3 years now, and worked for every penny.I'm just looking for someone who was run or tuned a combo like this. I can't afford to lean out and blow some **** up. So, I appreciate the info but like the post said can I boost 15-18psi on 550's without leaning out or do I need to step up to 720's? What kind of HP and TQ can I expect to make at 18psi? Thanks
