Injector Dynamics Atomization and Spray Pattern Videos
We finally got a chance to put together some videos showing the spray pattern and atomization of the Injector Dynamics lineup.
Turns out this is much harder to capture on film that it is to see with the naked eye. lol
These are not actually in slow motion, the reason you see what you do is due to a strobe light timed slightly different than the injection frequency.
You'll notice all of our injectors have a narrow cone spray angle, this is intentional and a big part of why they work so well. Atomization is important, but spray angle is more important. A very nicely atomized spray of fuel turns to a very poorly atomized mist of fuel once it contacts port or runner walls. You want the fuel to mix with the air as much as possible without landing directly on the walls of the port.

There likely will, we're working on it. The problem is nothing on the market now in that flow range actually has good performance and we won't put our name on something that isn't on par with the rest of our line. We have some stuff in the works, but it could be a ways out before they're available.

Why, so you can laugh? lol.. Its good to see people are finally learning how important atomization is.
Honestly, Tony, great job! I would like to see a test like what Horsepower Freaks did a few months back.. with the ID2000's but do a standard testing of ID725/1000's vs like RC/Percision and other injectors... That would be really cool to see how crappy those spray patterns really are.

Will do when I get some time. Our busiest part of the year right now so it will be a bit. Definitely on the list though, what's 'good' without seeing 'bad', right?
Wow, that is an awesome set of videos show detail of the spray pattern and atomization! Nice!
That would be great to see from ID or T1. Also as mentioned above HorsepowerFreaks did a video comparing the ID2000's to some other brand injectors for flow, spray pattern, pressure capability, etc. Pretty interesting and hope Tony does not mind I post the link to it in this thread if you interested.

I've seen videos for the rc1000's and precision 1000's. They dont atomize the fuel at all. They just spray like a fire hose. The ID injectors are hands down best thing on the market. The videos prove it. That mush atomization is the reason the driveability is so crisp and idle quality is better than stock and power production is top notch.
Nice videos Tony! They do look quite a bit different on a bench in real life. I'm guessing the camera misses a bunch of the peripheral droplets.
