Default Inform me!

I wnat to turbo charge my car, but I dont know jack about engine management. Can anybody explain or show me sites explaining engine management? I have a pretty good idea on how they work, but I cant find info on controlling boost pressures. Also I want to know if my engine would handle forced induction and would be stock internally, no intercooler, on 4-5 psi (daily driving) and on the new D17a2. Would this be safe? What parts am I missing here? Any info would help!

Controlling boost pressures
You can use a boost controller to raise the boost, and a wastegate to regulate the boost level

at 4-5 psi you should be fine. We dont know what parts you already have, so we could not tell you what you are missing. you need at least manifold, piping, fmu, inline fuel pump, boost guage, and a lot of small hardware, oil lines, etc.

not to be a jerk, just use the search feature and you will find a wealth of information

d17a2... The new Civic LX? I have a d17a1 on my new EX, and currently boosting.

You'll be just fine on 4lbs of boost. No more than 7 though, the connecting rods will snap like twigs. You can go above 4 with fuel system modifications. When new rods and pistons come out, you can replace them and boost higher than 7, if you have an upgraded fuel system.

Many people are talking about using larger RS fuel injectors and a Apex'I S-AFC (The V-AFC won't work properly on our car), dyno tuned. I'm using a Haltech F9 computer running two additional injectors for boost, because I'm planning on building the engine later and hitting big boost. But, if you're staying small boost, you'll be fine with new injectors and the S-AFC.

Otherwise... RevHard will be shipping their manifold soon, next month or two, the Turbo Performance manifold is crap, it's the only one out right now. I'm using a t03/04b turbo, HKS SS BOV, Tial 35mm Wastegate, Profec A boost controller, Spearco intercooler, and custom piping.

The 7th gen Civic doesn't have a fuel return line right? If not, I don't know how you'll be able to use an FMU.

I'd totally get a different intake manifold for it. I'd think that plastic would rupture before the connecting rods would break haha. why are your rods more delicate than any other d-series? There are a number of people running 10psi and some 12+psi on stock d-series...
