Default Info/Opinions on Inline Pro Headgasket...

I did a search but woulf like any and all info. and experience with their headgaskets.
My quest to keep my Turbo ITR internally stock is over unfortuantely I blew the headgasket and/or bent a valve. So for the time being I'm getting the head checked out and was thinking I might as well throw in one of the Inline Pro headgaskets as well. I wanted to know if anything else needs to be done at the same time? Are cam gears needed? Should I put in a block guard too since the head is off?
Thanks for any info.

you will need cam gears. i wouldn't do the blockgaurd. you will be able to run at least 10 lbs of boost on 93 octane with 440 injectors(or bigger) and proper management/tuning. the inlinepro headgasket is definitely a good choice for stock type r's and boost.

i have had one on my car for almost a year now and have been compleatly content with it!! my car has seen as high as 1.4 bar and is run at 1.0 bar daily with out a problem. I personally would recommend cam gears, a block guard, 370CC+ injectors, and good tuning. I am not a huge fan of inline pro, but i for one have had a great experience with there head gasket!

Speaking of cam gears and compression.
I just got my bottem end rebuilt wiht Arias 9:1cr and I don't have aftermarket cam gears.
So would you guys suggest I get some? whenver messing with the compression you need to adjust the cam gears?

Funny..I wonder why they didn't say anything to me..My car is sitting at inline right now..lol. I went from 10:1 to 9:1 on the jrsc and well i guess I'll have to get a set of cam gears as well.

I don't think you need cam gears if you are lowering the compression with pistons. if your lowering the compression with a thicker headgasket you need cam gears.

either way the compresion is changing, correct me if im wrong , but as long as the compression chages you would need to tune out the difference.
esp with that kinda change.

when using an inlinepro headgasket you have to use cam gears due to a fitment issue, not a compression issue.

instant message inlinepro or email them. they will explain it to you.

I think the reason you should use cam gears is that you are changing your deck height. Whenever you lower your deck height by machining the block or head, or raise it by using a thick headgasket, you throw off the cam timing a little bit. It doesn't have anything to do with compression.

Call the Jon at inline and he will explain it to you. it has nothing to do with compression ... but it has to do with the cam timing being slightly off because of the change in deck height though!
