Import Racer !!
Did any body catch "Import Racer" magazine of Feb. 04. There is a 01 Civic SI on page 34 with a RevHard turbo kit and stock internals. He's producing 248WHP at 6.5 psi.
I have never seen a Civic SI with B16 series engine that produced that much whp with a turbo and stock internals.
Is there much of a difference between the B16 and K20 in the new SIs ??

um im running a b18c1 abd i made 260 @ 5 psi and 326 @ 12 psi on stock internals. i dunnot if that helps answer your question. im going for 450 soon but with slightly built motor

There is a hugh difference between a k20 and a b16. For starters displacement 2.0L vs 1.6L then there's Ivtec vs vtec. In theory you should make more power with a k20 at the same psi. You should also have a lot friendlier tq curve due to the larger displacement.
Also FYI my buddy made 275whp on stock internals on a b16 at 10psi t3/t4 57 trim .48 ar

Shouldn't a .63 ar help that out a lil bit? Also, did he have any basic mods such as, intake mani, TB, and a good exhaust? I think that would help out with the power increase as well.
I thought the mag says 01 civic also...let me go reread it.

dang, oh ok it's because i havn't seen a B series engine turbo charged in South Carolina that made that much power on stock engine.
By the way, yah i know that it's an 02 civic, that's why i said k20 and B16

absolutely a .63 ar would help out with making more power. From what I understand and what my tuner has told me, tryning to make more than 300whp on a stock block b16 is pretty dangerous. It's gonna give after that.

What pissed me off about this issue is that on the cover it has a heading that says "Twin Turbo Civics."
And there are technically two turbo civics in the issue, but there is no way they can be considered twins. And there is definitly no twin-turbo civic in the issue.
I bought the magazine based on that heading, and don't plan on buying any more copies after that deceptive cover.
