Default im thinking turbo!

ok i have a 92 civic with a b18b1.i want to turbo it.i only want to run 7-10 lbs of boost. question 1 is will a turbo hurt stock internals with 125,000 miles on it?my second question is if there is a likely chance that is can then what should i up grade in my motor? thanks

I have seen people run 8-10 pounds all day long on stock internals with no problems at all with an LS. Even had a few friends run 12 pounds with no problems but thats where your pushing your luck. I personally wouldn't go over 10.

It's all in the tuning. Tune the fuel rich, take out more than enough timing and ALWAYS use premium fuel - and don't get crappy water gas or the 10% ethanol crap. And don't use a freaking FMU.

Do LOTS AND LOTS of reading before you attempt to do anything at all, and get a buddy to help you that has done it before and it will make your life much easier.

I run 8psi daily, but wouldn't sweat running 12psi on my car because I know how to tune. Also, boost pressure isn't everything because not every turbo makes the same power at the same pressure level. READ READ READ is the best advice you can be given.

The end result is VERY rewarding, and you can never turn away from the darkside as it is a never-ending addiction

HP people not PSI... One PSI on a turbo is completely different on another one..

To answer the OP you should be fine with stock internals just get a good tune and make sure to read a lot of info so you know what your motor can take before stuff starts to break.

Thank you.

Before you even start looking at going turbo, you have to figure out how much power you want.

Let's say you wanna make 250 horsepower. Then you buy the components you need to make the engine withstand that power. Then you buy the properly sized turbo and all the tons of **** that you need to go with it.

if all you want is 200hp. low boost will get you that EASY with a tune. or just spray it. but b18b is like 140crank hp, so thats around 111whp-125whp. Seen a dyno on the B18a1 which is 130hp factory, put down 111whp stock.
