yea i hope to god it works. Those of you that have had a leaky headgasket when was your temperature rising? Was it under boost or when you slow down after a boosting session like when you were going slow like me?

After boost. The air pockets in your coolant system cause your gauge to fluctuate as they get trapped. Your car in not actually over heating.

While you're at it throw in a new thermostat...just for the comfort.

sweet. Me and SOHC_MShue have the same exact issue then (same car too). So a flush/refill with 50/50 mix, new OEM rad. cap and proper bleeding should do the trick?

oh **** are you serious? Is it just air that got into my coolant system then? So I really don't have a blown headgasket? Is it just the air pushing my coolant out of the resivior?

ok, maybe I'm not explaining right. How do you think air gets into the system...? Boost, your head lifts, the cylinder pressure gets forced inbetween the head and deck, seperating the seal your HG had formed. Whats on the other side of the sleeves? Your coolant jackets, pressure gets in there, over pressurized the systems max psi, pushes coolant out your overflow, and now you have air pockets in the system causing your temp gauge to move up and down as they pass by the temp sensors.

alright i blead the coolant system and drove around for a while...my car was still doing the fluctuating temp thing, but when I checked my overflowtank it wasn't full like before. Shouldn't my tank have had coolant being pushed into it again?
