pretty sure i blew the head gasket any way its a stock 94 gsr with turbo @ 7 lbs rolled into it in second hit third and heard a faint pop witch i now know was the top of the radiator exploding smelled like coolant bad so i shut it down and coasted into a lot to survey the damage at first i thought the radiator went (damn plastic caps) so i swapped it out and when i started it it spewed coolant back out like a gyser i took the turbo and manifold off today cause im pullin the motor but when i took the turbo manifold off coolant came out of #1 and #2 cylinders and when i took off the charge pipe and opened the butterfly on the tb there was alot of coolant in it what do you guys think? jus a head gasket?more?

 

Did it run any differently after you heard the pop? (or did you shut it off so quick you're not sure?)

atfirst i thought it was jus the rad so i swapped it out and filled it up then started it and it shot all the coolant out the top of the rad but it runs roughthere was some gritty stuff inside the #1 cylinder exhaust port? valves?

 

i'd go with headgasket. your valves have nothing to do with coolant.

 

the motor is apart now and # 3 cylinder is cracked all the way down on the outside and three quarters of the way down on the inside and also sepeerated the lining so the only thing i can come up with is detonation the head gasket is only pushed out at the spot where the cly broke no piston damage no rod failure jus the cylinder any one got a gsr block?
