My car has been idling like **** and I thought it was the IAC valve so I swapped that out for another one and the problem continued. I am starting to think that it is a vaccuum leak even though it is a fast lope, which I thought leaks made a slow lope. The idle bounces back and worth from 1400-1500rpm. In the vid the upper charge piping is disconnected and it seems like a ton of air is coming out of the IAC valve hole. Sound quality is so-so, but you get the idea. Thanks,

are you sure all the vaccumm sources are hooked up?
i had a prob with my idle for a week. until i saw that i had left a small little vac line off the intake mani
watched the vid..
ok, it wasnt that bad mine was a slower lope.

hmm, yea, i am almost 100% sure that i checked all the vacuum lines.

Definitely sounds like a vacuum leak, also check for leaks around IACV

my car did that when my IACV wasn't working, right at 1500. Do you throw any CELs? Try disconnecting the clip on the IACV while its idling and see if it changes anything.

I'm having the same problem. When I disconnect the IACV, it drops to like 600 but it doesn't surge or anything. Does that mean the IACV is bad or working?

And does the weather affect the idle? On cold days, it gets so much worse. This problem started after I swapped out the IM, but I've since replaced the IM gasket and can't find any vacuum leaks around there.

Man ive never heard a vac leak sound like that. Have you done a compression and leak down test?

There is CEL, but I tried to jump it to the dash and it wouldn't display a CEL. I assumed it was the IAC valve because I would unplug it and it wouldn't change anything. I swapped it out for another one, but the problem continued. Could it be the wiring to the IAC valve?

Since your running a stock Y7, what is assumed with 2-wire style IACV's can NOT be assumed with the 3-wire style present on the Y7. When you unplug a 2-wire IACV, the idle should always drop, but with a 3-wire style, this doesn't happen. The two are constructed totally different and operate totally different.

Have you messed with the idle air bypass screw or throttle blade stop screw?

On the 3 wire IACV, I believe that the idle should rise(according to helms) if its unplugged. I could be wrong here.

Idle air bypass I am assuming is the screw on the top of the TB, if so, I have screwed that different directions, only smoothes the idle out if I bring it up. The blade stop screw I lowered down to see if it made a difference, but it did not.

It seems as if the hole just outside the butterfly on the TB which is linked up with the IAC valve is pushing too much air. I am up for any suggestions.

I had the same problem.

Check your throttle body gasket. I checked all the vac lines, IACV, FICV, and the throttle body. The problem was nowhere to be found there, and it ended up being my port job that had messed up my idle. Hondata s200 = fixed.
