When my car is cold, like when I start it up in he morning, the idle goes besurk! It jumps from 500rpms to1500rpms continuesly. My shop checked it out but couldn't figure it out. It goes away when the car warms up, but the car still doesn't idle steadily sometimes. Anyone have any ideas?
if your idle is going up and down continuously, then 1 of your intake air sensors is going or is dead... if you adjust the scew on the TB, it will only control where the engine idles by a few 100 rpm. check your sensors and see what needs to be replaced, or that it is on correctly.
No NO NO its either the iac valve or the fast idle valve the iac in on the back of the manifold and the fast idle valve is attached to the bottom of the t-body start the car when it is cold stick your finger inside the t-body feel for the oblong holes on the inside plug them one at a time that will tell you wich one is bad...
this guy is right
,when you plug the top hole, if your idle levels off, it's your fast idle valve if you have a check engine light it is your iac valve.the iac valve(electronic) adjusts your air to fuel ratio and the f.i.t. valve(not electronic) creates a vaccum leak in the throttle body to bring the idle up so your engine can warm up quicker. i have read that if you have air bubbles in your water system or a bad thermostat it can cause your f.i.t. valve to act up but i haven't seen this yet.it can be adjusted usually. on the b18c1 you have to take off your throttle body take of the brass colored end plate and tightened down the plastic white collar. that is what i had to do on mine.

Ok, thanks guys. I'm putting in a turbo and a JG im soon, so that should fix the problem right? I'll also have the shop look at it. Its weired b/c this happened after I crashed. I also have a wet nitrous kit and a afr gauge, and the gauge doesn't work properly like it did before. It runs lean when ever i'm on the gas and rich at idle. My O2 sensor is fine and no CEL light is on. Is the gauge tide in with the unsteady idling?

Andre,
Maybe its the integra telling you to REV HARD. Whats up buddy, I am just bored. Saw your problem, I guess a bigger more American Intake manifold will help. Remember boost at 3bar
and your shot of Nitrous.
