Default iat question/experiment

alright...i'm thinking my iat is too high and it's affecting my timing, a/f, and hp. what i want to do is find a way to tap into my iat sensor and read it to see what my intake temps are. what wire do i tap into and what voltage=what temps. i'm also wondering about using the coolant bypass if that's heating up my iat as well or does it pass through the tb before going to the turbo. if it passes through the tb after the turbo it's getting quite a bit of hot coolant to heat iat as well. i might get a little cooler to run after the turbo.

i also just experimented today with wrapping my upper charge pipe with aluminum foil (shiny side out) to help reject heat to maybe prevent heat soak. so far it seems like it's doing it's job, but again i need a way to measure the temp to be sure. i'm looking at wrapping it with insulation and then aluminized tape. i know this is ghetto, but i'm experimenting right now before buying anything expensive.

give me some input guys and gals.

The ECU doesnt read it in barometric temperatures, it reads voltage and corrects based on the input voltage. Good luck finding the calibration for hondas set voltage to what temperature it equals. The only thing that I think would be to install a air temp gauge and log voltage with temp. let us know how it goes.

210 = .47v
200 = .55v
190 = .64v
180 = .74v
170 = .88v
160 = 1.00v
150 = 1.15v
140 = 1.33v
130 = 1.52v
120 = 1.74v
110 = 2.00v
100 = 2.26v
90 = 2.50v
80 = 2.81v

Give or take a few .1's....but it should get you in the ball park.

As for which wire:
99 Civic & 00 Teg = C25, Red/Yel wire
96-98 Civic & 98-99 Teg = D8, Red/Yel wire
