Default i stripped the threads on the turbine

I was putting my downpipe back on yesterday after putting header wrap on it and cross threaded 2 of the bolt threads. I got out the tap set and had the right one. started to retap the first hole and fixed it. i started the second and everything was going fine until...*snap* THE TAP BROKE OFF! i finally got the tap out of the turbine after fighting it with channel locks. I'm going to take the housing off and take it to a machine shop and have them re thread it and put studs in the housing so this will never happen again and make installing it easier.

weaksauce
I had half a dp bolt stuck in my turbine for a couple months after I snapped it off. I drilled it out when I got a chance and re-tapped it with the same threads, worked like a charm. I actually broke my small tap handle when I was using the 1st extractor bit on the bolt. Then I had to switch to my other tap handle

also make sure u use oil on the tap when threaded something

another trick to get out broken taps is to use 2 nails that just fit inbetween the tap and the hold... bang them in there so there snug... put a visegrip on them and twist it out
