Default I solved my overheating issue.

For starters the car is a 90 CRX si, d16z6 11lbs boost. I've been having overheating issues with the car since the day I had it boosted(around 3 years) and had to run the car with the heat on in the middle of summer which really sucked. So far I changed the rad to a Fluidyne/slim fan, used 60/40 mix with water wetter, wired the fan to be constant at a flick of a switch and still on hot days my water temps shot up to 220. The thing that solved my issues was installing a block off plate (which I fabricated ) beside the rad to direct the path of air through the rad. As we all know air takes the path of least resistance and in my case it was around the rad not through it. Heres a pic to better describe what I'm talking about.

Worked for me. I drove 250km today and the heat only rose to 195.

nice ...i was having overheating issues with one of those radiators too, but i ended up going back to full sized.

is it sheet metal?? what if you made one to go around the intercooler to help make it more efficient??

Hey
Did you get that idea from my post?
I had made the exact same thing bascially, and also wrapped my DP, the car ran cooler ( i dont know if the heatwrap done it, or the plate ) but when i raced on the track, the car felt alot slower and im thinking it is because of the plate not letting air flow through the IC properly??
I have since removed the plate, and am going to try and make up a custom full size rad to sit underneath the rad support panel, but is looking a little hard to do

Just remember your filler neck has to be the highest point on your coolant system or you will never get the air out.

Jack the front of the car up reguardless of the filler neck hight to an extent this will allow the air bubbles to flow to the radiator instead of getting stuck in the block . thats what i had to do on my hatch worked great
