i really need someones help
alright i have a d16z6 with a 14b, 450cc injectors with a gutted cat and 2 1/4 inch piping running 8 lbs
heres the problem
before i was running on a vafc2 controller but i took it to a shop to get my ecu tuned on crome
anyways when i was running the vafc my car was pretty fast with no hesitations at all i was running the gutted cat and even had a stock resignator on my piping but i am always told tuning my ecu is better so i did
but when we removed the vafc and tuned with crome my car has hesitation
in the 4000- 7000 range...the tuner said because i was running 8lbs and i still had a 1.5 inch resignator that it would hesitate because the exaust is trying to be shoved into such a small opening so he told me to get larger exhaust piping and i will have no problems
well im running 2 1/4 piping with no resignator and i still have hesitations, and i even tried running open downpipe and its the same
btw the tuner says i have good air to fuel ratios and my car idles and rives fine until; 4000rpm also i am throwing a o2 sensor cel

i think its obvious your tuner was trying to throw some excuse to get rid of you.
its a bad tune! and no you shouldnt use the vafc.

Re: i really need someones help (ham)
the car was tuned at a shop by someone who tunes 10 cars a day.
it feels like something is holding my car back my dyno sheet goes straight up until about 4000 and then its very choppy up until 7000
and im still throwing a cel code #1
i only plan on running 8-9lbs of boost on a 14b turbo

are you running closed loop? Code one is the primary o2. Im guessing your running a wideband in the car?
I would also look into the ignition setup and the gapping on the spark plugs.

Re: (weiRtech)
i dont have a wideband i think its throwing the code from having a gutted cat,
i have a msd coil and my plugs are gapped at .30 and i changed them right before the tune, and my car drove fine before the tune i had no hesitation at all it pulled nice even with 4 people in the car
i just wanted to get rid of my vafc so i tuned on crome because i was told it was better
and i exaggerated a little he does about 4 or 5 a day

Re: (exotik4doorcivic)
ok i found a wire pulled out going to my fuel pump relay it was green with a yellow line i pinned it back in the plug reset my ecu and it seems to have gotten rid of the hesitation
after 6000 rpms it slowly climbs to 7000 but i think that might be because of me only running 2 1/4 inch piping or it being a dx tranny what do you guys think?

always look at the last thing changed... you went from afc to crome and it runs crappy. i think that narrows it down. now you are bringing up other factors and i may be wrong, but ive experienced the problems you are having, and it was the chip. i stand by my hypothesis.
also, your cel is not from the gutted cat.
