hi,

this is andrew aka gimpster/gimpy. i'd like to throw out a bit of technical theory out thats way over most HT'rs heads:

i'd just like to say all of you tools bashing UD sux0r. i'm really glad that people like blake, doc, dave, joeseph, evan .. etc etc and myself stayed up at nights trying to help you retards out. they say a fool and his money cant be together for long, i guess its true.

in the honda scene you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. I'd rather be damned for don't at this point. people who use UD love it, those who've never tried it have nothing but animosity(sp) and hate for it... i just don't get it. in the interest of public good: STFU .. seriously.. just STFU. until you can read machine code and point us a code snippit and TELL me why it sucks, STFU.

same goes for people who say it lacks features, if it lacks features at this point its because of one of the follwing:

1.) the feature sucked and no one used it anyway (ie: AUTOTUNE which people seem to be so in love with...but no one uses)

2.) it has, thus far, presented great technical challenges to accomplish and frankly since i and no one else is getting paid to this.. thats the breaks.

3.) if theres a feature you want so bad, CODE IT UP! this is still DIY & experimental. maybe someone flat out has never seen Hondata and wouldnt know what features are neat to try and emulate/implement.

thank you, that is all.

ps: DSM 4 LIFE FOR ME NOW !!!

Can you run Uberdata on an auto? I would run this cuz hondata's site says you can run it on an automatic ecu.

Yes, I was running it on my 1995 Civic EX auto... was driving just fine Pretty damn quick for an auto too, I HIGHLY reccomend putting an external cooler on it.

So i can run uber data instead of a safc or e-manage. How much does uberdata cost and can I have any local shop tune it, or do they need the same equipment that a hondata tuner would need?

Tuning uberdata is the same as tuning any other engine management system.

You phrased it wrong, you meant to say, "I want to run uberdata over shitty, poorly implemented hacks like an safc or e-manage."

Good thread I've always had the UD sucks cuz I have Hondata and so does everyone else and their mom . . . so it must be better mentality. I just never speak on it, possibly for fear that I may get a verbal bitch-slapping from J.Davis. Nice to learn some stuff about it though . . .

are you saying that if i want hondata to understand that the air intake temperature has changed, and to compensate for it, then I need to purchase an extra $200 datalogging option?

What do I get for the s200 base model plus boost?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Sohc Driver &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I originally planned on using uberdata. But I am not a "Do it yourselfer" nor am I willing to risk letting myself tune my only daily driver. I needed my car tuned by a professional, and so I chose Hondata. I wanted the piece of mind of knowing I had something good managing my engine.

VSV is doing my tuning...Too bad I already purchased my Hondata Unit... But I have no regrets and rather keep it

And one other thing, I have introduced uberdata to a local shop here in Oklahoma. Since Oklahoma is a rather less educated market in imports, meaning they all are cheap, run FMUs, run AFCs...very few even consider hondata...so Trizone Motorsports(local shop) doesn't think becoming a hondata dealer is economical in Oklahoma. So once he gets used to chipping ECU's and the uberdata software, he'll be using Uberdata to tune more and more cars. I personally dont' consider myself an Uberdata basher, I have a lot of respect for Uberdata, but it is definitely not for the DIY's.

Damn, were are most def gonna have to Hook up once i get there...If Trizone is gonna be doing Uberdata, im gonna be all over like Flys on ****. Would like to know how to use it....I'll test it out, I been to the Uberforums and tried to get aquainted with it some what. yes everyone says Hondata but i guess i wanna see what Uber has to offer..Yes its cheap and im a Cheap Bastard. Plus DIY kicks ***....I done everything on my car so far so why stop now

no, it does that automatically. as your stock ecu does. you need datalogging to datalog the intake air temps.

Just for all the haters that feel a professional tuner wouldn't touch it...
