Default HUGE TURBO PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

hey all, im 15 and i have a 93 honda civic. for the past few weeks, ive had a T3 turbo on and off the car. problem is, when its on, it smokes like crazy. all the oil lines are done correctly, and i cant make sense of it. i know its oil smoke, and there is also oil dripping from the downpipe. (i never put the rest of the exhaust on, as i know it will all have to come back off when the turbo starts smoking again)

PLEASE HELP ME. turbos are expensive, and id hate to think i wasted all that money...

Probably have to rebuild the turbo. All of the oil seals are probably shot.

well if its brand new there should be a warranty so see what u can do with that. I would double check all the piping and fittings and all the little things. But as mentioned above some of the oil seals may be shot.

Thats what I was thinking.
Sort of weird though considering the turbo is new.

I'm willing to bet it's either XS Power or SSAC.

OP: What brand of turbo is it?

What does your oil return line look like coming off the turbo...because when mine was boosted...the return line was too low on my oil pan so the oil would back up into the turbo and smoke. The turbo was in great shape...but it smoked because the oil had nowhere to go. If so...that's an easy fix. Hope that helps...

XS was all i could afford. besides, i dont want boost out of this as much as i just want to hear the turbo spooling up. i know the turbo i bought isnt gonna do me much good, but if i could just hear it spool up, then all this trouble is worth it

I bet this guy will soon have one of those ebay muffler things that makes the spooling turbo sound. Then after that, put in a CO2 bottle so he can purge it and make it look like he has a NOS setup too.
