Default HP Relationaship to 1/4 mile times?

I'm looking to boost my 89 Civic with B16 swap and I really like to turbo kits at Go Autoworks . I've read several good reviews and positive feedback from other users here on H-T so I'd like to pick up one of their kits.

In order to select a kit, I need to have a power goal in mind and my question is if there is a relationship between horsepower and 1/4 mile times. For example, if I want to run a 12 sec 1/4 mile, approximately how much horsepower do I need?

Thanks!

Just noticed I spelled "relationship" wrong on the title but I can't edit it...

Wouldn't this be a question better served if posted in the Drag Racing forum?

Too many variables to be accurate, weight, driver abililty, traction, etc are all factored in.

not to mention where you get your hp #s, such as dyno jet reads lower than a mustang dyno. Altitude, track temps, intake temps, also makes a difference.

More HP to the ground, the faster the times!
