how would this do on a poor mans type r?
gsr block with itr pistons, b16 head with b16 cams. a garret t3/t4 57 trim .63 a/r 4 bolt with stage3 wheel. i'm thinking 6-8 psi max because of the high compression (10.6). what kind of power could i put down? i would be very happy with anything over 250whp. My intercooler of choice is a johhny race car 6 inch and i ahve a 3inch downpipe. it will prolly be open dp until i can afford a 3inch exhaust. injectors will be dsm 450cc, fuel pump will be upgraded to walbro and tuning will be p28 with uberdata or crome(? can't decide? dont know). PLease critique my setup. thank you

don't limit yourself on PSI alone. limit yourself on WHP because that is the determining factor to a long lasting and safe engine. Why do you want to lower compression....do you even know why? All it means is the margin from peak power to detonation is smaller, but if you get a good tuner you will be just fine. Go get a tuner adn talk with him

thanks for the input, the reason i want to lower is that there will be more room for error tuning wise. thats why i can't decide if i want to go wtih crome or uberdata 1.7. I would like to tune with hondata or aem ems but funds do not permit. thanks for the input though do you think 260ish or so is reasonable with that turbo? thanks

I ran something close to your setup in my type R.
T3/T4 60 trim .63 ar housing stage 3 wheel
Vortech 12.1 FMU
VAFC
OBD1
GSR cams
It made 254whp (tuned by Tony1) at 5psi. Stock compression, headgasket, etc.

yeah you'l make your 260whp pretty easily. Uberdata/Crome/Hondata all work the same way and control ignition and fuel in the same manner so I would personally stick with the free ones!
Although the tuner can't change the margin of safety he can make it go to the safer side and not opt for peak power, which is just fine.

not much difference. If you want quicker spool go for a .48 A/R on the turbine side

i have been told that the .48 a/r is a lil too small.. would this be suitable for my goals and my motor? i dont want it to fall off on the top end. I plan on buying my turbo from camp1320 and i can chose T3/T4E .50, .54 , .57, .60 trim compressor 4 bolt stage 3 .48 or .63 a/r.
I was thinking 54 or 57 trim and .63 a/r but idk. what do you suggest?

man at boost levels as low as what you are planning for you won't see ANY lag what so ever. My 60 trim was great....with the comp being that high it'll help your low end and you wont see ANY lag..trust me.
