i have had great experiences with stock b18c sleeves. inline has put incredible amounts of horsepower through stock sleeves with great success. tuning is the key. to me, the picture earl put up clearly shows what results from poor tuning, not necessarily the sleeves themselves. IMO.

What startles me is that it is so easy to do this WITHOUT a turbo.
Stock sleeves have been prove to hold enourmous amounts of power. The real point of this thread is tuning is vital, not that sleevesar week. Honda's sleeves are remarkably strong wth the correct tuning. Most hp I have ever seen with stock sleeves I believe is 530 or so.

anything will break without the proper maintenance (in this case tuning). Washer's, dryer's, lawnmowers, and especially cars.

Wow earl.. you know what the funny thing is. That's EXACTLY what my block looks like. LOL Only difference is the #3 sleeve busted on the opposite side. It's weird because the chunk/break missing is exactly the same shape as mine, and the water jacket got pushed out the exact same way as mine. Also, I can't tell from the pictures, but one crack goes almost all the way down the cylinder.

So are we concluding that 160 whp with bad tuning is harder on a stock Honda block than 500 whp with good tuning? Doesn't seem right to me but not sure why

i've been scratching my head all day reguarding your post. i'm always slow on sundays you know. haha. but as far as i'm concerned, detonation is detonation, no matter what the horsepower.
