Default How to size my clutch?

I am building a 300 - 350 HP B18B-Turbo and was wondering how to select the proper size clutch. How do I properly calculate the torque I will see from this engine? I guess I am getting confused because the highest torque is at the lowest RPM, but at what RPM to need to start from...Or am I going about this the complete wrong way?

Stock specs are 142 HP @ 6300 RPM
127 lb-ft @ 5200 RPM

My guess is 350 HP would be about 313 lb-ft, but at what RPM?
Thanks for any help

You're looking too far in to things.

Forget about numbers, just get a clutch and pressure plate that is proven to work good on a similar setup as yours.

I agree that you're thinking about it way too in depth. There are several clutches that will work well for your setup. I've used an Exedy Stage 2 for 2 years and it held 215ft/lbs with no problem. Its easy to drive and feels similar to stock (but stiffer). I'm now upgrading to a Competition Stage 5...look around the Marketplace, there are tons of options available.

Well I have narrowed it down to 2 choices:
ACT HDSS (243 ft-lbs) 55% increase in clamp force
ACT XTSS (319 ft-lbs) 100% increase in clamp force

I would like to go with the HDSS in fear that the XT may be too stiff of a pedal. Can anyone speak from experience on how stiff it really is? This is going to be a daily driver so I don't want it to be too stiff. Also, remember my goals were about 300-350 HP (probably closer to 300 in reality). And does it matter if the load is increased considering that it is a hyro tranny (no cable)? I dont think it would, but just something I was thinking about.

XTSS

Myself and multiple friends ran the clutch with no problems. The pedal pressure really isnt bad IMO.

What is your setup with this clutch? Is it overkill for my 300+ application? Can anyboby else vouch for the pedal not being too stiff? It probably is better to lean towards the stronger clutch and sacrifice the pedal. Any more comments are appreciated...Thanks G2
