Default How to Prevent Blow By?

Ive been hearing alot about blowby. i know detanation can be one of the causes. i know using an oil cath can helps. what else could you do? sorry for the noob question i just trying to learn as much as i can before i boost my car.

blow by is when exhaust gases in the combustion chamber leave the first and second rings, right into the oil pan/oil passageways/head. blow by happens in older cars where the first and second rings are worn down badly or if they are broken.

If you get detonation and break a ring land than you really can't prevent it unless you change new pistons.

Oil catch reduces oil vapors that get returned back into the intake system (for emissions purposes) but it also helps by decreasing positive pressure in the crankcase. Positive pressure in the crank case will cause seals to blow out quicker

so to answer your question ... tune the motor, run modert boost leves and your car will live a long life
