How necessary is a block guard??
I ask this question because i got my block bored .20 over. I've ask a few of mechanics and some say i need it and some say i dont. Some of them tell me not to get it because it keeps water from flowing properly and what not. What do you guys think? what should i do?. Thanks for any help
i've installed several with no cooling problems. if your going to boost it would be in your best interest to get one, they are not very expensive.

You might want to enlarge the coolant holes tho.

We run 400+ WHP on a stock casting (0.020 over) without a blockguard... in a DAILY DRIVEN street car.

tuning, tuning, and tuning...
nuff said..block guard can work very well to your advantage...but it can haunt you as well for incorrect installation..
do a search, and you'll find a lot of topics about it...
me, IMO, I'd stay without it and invest the money on tuning...
