I am building a ls vtec.I don't really have the money to go thru the bottom end fully right now so I was wondering how much power I can run thru it.I want to go ahead and build my turbo setup first and run less boost then when I get a little more cash go into the bottom and then turn it up.I just don't know what the bottom will hold.

 

Just make sure however much boost you run you get a good tune via hondata, aem, etc. Make sure the tune is a conservative one and constantly check for leaks or anything else that could go wrong(check you vac lines to the wastegate religiously along with the lines running to your BC). Do tese things and you shouldn't have to worry too much about grenading your ride.

 

Just wondering on an aprox power i guess on the stock bottom.

 

300 is safe, theres been quite a few who have pushed more though...this is all assuming teh car is tuned good with good engine management.

 

St00pid pushed somewhere in the area of 400whp.... (stock internals) But hes a crazy good tunner and he had a standalone....

I tought it was 350+ stock ls with a block guard on 20 psi.
