how much boost on regular gas?
how much boost can i run with an inline fuel pump, fmu, 440cc injectors, and hondata without having to get racing fuel? i wanted to run 15lb, one of my friends said youd have to get higher octane, like racing fuel to run that high of boost.

there was a guy at the races tonight w/ a 2.1 built gsr turbo show car. he said it made 713hp under the hood on 93 octane w/ a greddy t3/t4. he said it runs 11.3's on stock tires but he doesnt bring it out. he keeps it in the garage.
some people.
i wouldnt run a stock LS motor past 13psi on 93 octane just to be safe. pour in some 100 unleaded to mix and just to bump up the octane a little and stay on the safe side. no point of tuning on the edge to save a few bucks on gas.

now that is funny.
he told me it ran 11.3 and then told my friend 10 minutes later it runs 8.50s, on pump gas with a GREDDY t3/t4, correct me if I am wrong but I dont think greddy uses a t3/t4.
water injecton my friend

either he was talking about his 1/8th mile or he was smoking crack.
most likely, both.

i have been running 1 bar (14.7) psi on pump gas for almost a year now with no problems. i have heard that 1 bar is the highest you can go on 93 octane and most of the people i cruise with run the same amount of boost on pumg gas and we tune our cars with afc's and a/f gauges. you just need to keep an eye on boost creep in the winter. honestly it all depends on your compression and turbo size. with an ls at 9.5 -1 i would keep it around 12-13 psi, but your turbo would also make a difference. the larger the turbo the more cfm's you will force into the motor, which means you will have to run slightly lower boost on pump gas. just buy a 55gal. drum of vp c16 and mix.***no worries***
sorry buddy but on the gsr application greddy uses the 18g turbo!

This is true. On a GSR application, Greddy uses a 16g turbo. They can barely make 350 whp on a b18c. The size of the turbo limits its output. That dude was a ******* herb.

[QUOTE] Alcohol is better it raises the octane of your fuel as well as cooling the inside of your cylinders almost the same amount. Not to mention it burns really cool. Plus you don't risk hydrolocking your engine. [QUOTE]
You are correct, but it cost more.

It's hard t o say how much boost can be run on a motor unless you know the trims of your compressor/turbine. I know of an LS/Hatch that has been running on 20 lbs. of boost for 11 months now on a T04B turbo. Car makes 300fwhp and 296 fwtp on 93 octane, and a conservative tune on Hondata.
The car has a best time of 11.63 on slicks. Check out the February issue of SCC for more details on the hatch.

not a honda but my buddy runs his turbo mr2 at 21 psi on the track on pump gas, then 18 on the street..............but basically it all comes down to tunning, thats why my sleeved h23 is at a pathetic 7psi
, need more money for boost controller and hondata and rc's, then we'll see 1 bar on the street
also know a guy at a dyno shop that has a single turbo supra putting down 650hp at 32psi on pump gas
Tunning is the key!
