Default d16 10lbs of boost, recommended fuel setup??

turbo is a t3 .57 I have a fmu at the moment and will run that for 7 lbs.

The engine is a stock d16z6 with arp bolts all around and cometic headgasket. I dont want to worry about my engine ever running lean.

First of all I want to know do i need a bigger inline or intank pump for the fmu (12:1)?

Also I know everyone loves hondata, but for 10 maybe 12 lbs of boost is it worth it. I can get a vafc2 for 200 bucks new, I dont know anyone who can set up uberdata in my area either.

Last question i want my car to run mid 13's in a 1987lbs dx hatch personal opinion, you guys think its possible on 10 lbs of boost?

Anyways thanks for any input to my questions

Yes hondata is worth it for 10 psi. Thats what i run. See my sig for numbers. I would run hondata with some 440 cc injectors and a walbro intank fuel pump.

what is the .57 on your T3?

If your going to do the hack you don't use an FMU, just DsM injectors, resistor box, and the AFC.

I ran the afc hack w/ stock pump on T25 @ 9lbs and it was great for 5000 miles. This is a d16z6 in a dx hatch. I'm putting a .63 ar turbine T3 and tubular manifold on and hope to get into the 13s as well. I have a friend who ran a 13.9 with a dsm t25 at about 6 psi, so I'm sure a T3 at 9 would get you lower than that.

Where did you get your weight from and what engine do you have?

DSM 390cc or 450cc injectors, and vafc. just rotate your dizzy alittle and u will run perfect at 10psi. ditch the FMU.

check sig im selling the exact setup u need. vafc, 450cc injector and resistor box.

hummm, i have the exact same car and engine. What parts were missing to make it weigh 1987lbs?

You'll be pretty happy with the hack if you get some decent dsm 450s and that 200 dollar AFC IMO. Obviously uberdata, hondata etc. are better but if you cant tune then they are pretty useless. I had my car running pretty awesome after about 1/2hr of messing with the AFC

cool, I kept my bumpers, no AC, no PS, no seats or plastic, so i'm probably just over 2000lbs. I have some rotas with azenis too that might add a few lbs. i don't know guess i'll just go weigh it and know for sure.

The highest i ran was 9.5 but usually no mare than 9psi. My new turbo should flow more so I will probably just leave it there and see how it goes. I woulden't go much over 200hp without an MSD btm box maybe 220. I have 2 degress pulled at the distributer but i'm not sure if thats safe for much more. It never detonated even once when I was running it at 9 so I guess it's cool. depending on the turbo you have you should be plenty safe at 10 IMO

hondata can potentialy yeild more hp than the vafc. but u have to spend money to get it tuned and dyno'd. the vafc and some DSM injectors perfect for 10-psi on the street. just tune buy feel, exhaust and plug colors, and a standard a/f gauge. also for 10psi rotat dizzy to retard timming slightly as a percaution. many people run 10psi with no timming retard but its just a safe to run alittle retard. hondata isn;t really nessesary for 10psi 11+ yes because u need a 3 bar map and timming map controls. 10psi and lower vafc, dsm injectors and rotate the dizzy and youll be fine. ive run 10psi in a b16a with dsm 450s and i ran 7.5 on my dx motor pulled better than my b16. and it was a stock dx tranny.

will I still need a fuel pump upgrade for vafc or the temporary fmu setups?

If I do, should it be intank or inline?? and what flowrate?

I'd reccomend the 255lph intank if you want to upgrade.

Hondata

i ran 10psi on my b16a with just the hack and the DSM 450cc injectors. no reason u should need an inline for the hack and larger injectors. i didn't ran 7.5 on my dx motor with stock pump. u will need a fuel pump for the FMU.

anyone here with 10 lbs on a similar turbo setup, so i could get a base to start tuning??

also would it be better to get cam gears to change the timing than adjust the rotor on my dist cap, i feel that this method is not very accurate

you can't adjust ignition timing through adj cam gears..you need some kinda msd boost timing retard.

450cc "hack", msd btm at 1/2 or 1/3 degree per pound of boost, and good wideband tuning and 10psi is not problem. i run 10-11psi daily and lately it's been spiking to just about 12psi. 16k miles boosted and 10k miles at 10psi+.

get a wideband and run it full time and you can feel confident everyday with the hack at 10psi.
