Default How much boost with high comp. LS/VTEC

I have a LS/vtec with pistons and rods at around 11.5 compression. How much boost should I run, will be using a greddy GSR kit with intercooler.

I'm not one to contradict boost w/ high compression...but, its gonna need to be real precise...

I personally wouldnt go over the 5.5 stock boost w/ greddy kit unless its really well tuned...ie: hondata, ems, etc.

Good question! Is there anyone here actually boosting an LS/VTEC? Maybe anyone here boosting a Type R?

I was boosting 5psi 12.5:1 with an LS/vtec. That was until it spun a bearing (totally unrelated to the high compression bw/boost). I had to size the turbo so the peak efficiency would be at the highest rpms so it wouldn't heat the air too much up top where you risk detonation the most. The hardest thing was getting the timing right. I used alcohol injection and air-liquid with some extra modifications (I won't mention here) to make sure detonation and pre-ignition wouldn't happen. My intake temps tend to stay below 100 degree F. . They only got up there once when I ran low on alky and the water injection pump decided I didn't have enough so it shut off.?!? I forgot to add it takes longer to tune and unfortunately there aren't many dyno's around me that I know of. I know one and it's a mustang dyno ...

Great info, I hope someone here has successfully hooked up a LS/VTEC. I bought the car with the swap already and it's fast for now. However I want more and I love the pull from the Turbo. I would like th Greddy kit. I know someone has to be able to help out here... Here's the setup currently on the car listed below..

B18A block
LS rods with ARP rod bolts*
ITR Pistons+rings*
Ported GSR cylinder head
'01 spec ITR camshafts*
ITR valve springs*
OEM integra LS throttle body and intake
OEM integra LS exhaust manifold
Skunk2 Intake Manifold*
P28 ECU re-chipped by Katman of JDMhondaparts.com*

Please someone bring your knowledge to the Table..
