How much boost can stock MAP sensor read?
stock sensor is good for just over 10 psi. if you are running that close to the max though it would probably be a good idea to upgrade to a gm or omni power sensor that can register more psi.
Its a 1,8 bar map sensor. One thing to remember when dealing with map sensors is that they account for 1 bar of atmospheric pressure; therefore, your map will read 0,8 bar of positive boost pressure (11,6 psi). I would not get within a half a psi of it's limit though. As they're not supposed to see boost pressure from the factory, they do tend to vary in their ability to read pressure correctly.

not always that easy, depending on his situation he could need a retune and that costs bucks and not really needed if he is running 8ish psi.
the last car i tuned was a boosted b16, 8 psi off the wastegate stock map sensor on neptune. i set the boost cut to 10psi to give 2 psi for creep and whatnot on colder nights
