Default How many of you have 450+hp with a 3" full exhaust (minus cat).

I hope there are alot of you out there because I cant find 3.5" mandrel bent exhaust. Im thinking of getting a Kteller 3" exhaust, 3" dowpipe and 3.5" (5" x 8") magnaflow muffler from Jegs.

Im running 14 psi on a SC61 9:1 compression B18c built motor. I have a 2.5" dowpipe to 2.25" cat back exhaust and a stock IM that I think are the reasons for my low numbers (see sig). Also hondata is tuned pretty conservative 11:1 a/f or 10.5:1 a/f on boost if i remember correctly. Im going to get those things changed and put springs and retainers in the head. Im shooting for 25 psi - 28 psi (450hp+ I hope) using the new full 3" exhaust. Just wondering now if the 3" is adequate and/or if goals are attainable

yes, and with no exhaust you would make more still.

I think SP engineering just started making 3.5" exhausts for civic and integras.

I think that might end the discussion right there.

but assuming bigger is better, a car making 400whp on a 3" will make more with a 3.5 correct

The law of diminishing returns would probably begin to apply.

Well then, I guess its up to you.

You might also want to consider that it may limit muffler selection, and I don't know if they make resonators that big. You may have to put up with a raspy exhaust note.

it has a dynamax muffler and a small resonator...there are tons of turbo diesel duallys running around with 4" mandrel exhaust and turbo honda in general arent what id call raspy. sounds not really an issue, just dont wanna hear open dp all the time
