How Many People Use Girdle on Their 700whp Cars?
I have B20 which will be going in my car shortly. I have arp main studs in it right now. I wanted to know if I should put GSR or ERL main girdle in it. I have the gsr one laying around and erl goes for around $500. I want to make over 700whp+.
Here is my setup:
B20vtec cp 9:0:1
Manley rods
Gsr built head
custom intake manifold w/velocity stacks
68mm TB
precision 1600cc injectors
AEM 5 bar map
arp mains, head
CTR cams
PMS T4 top mount turbo manifold
Precision GT4067
precision 750 IC
4" downpipe
4" exhaust
B16 trans
OBX lsd
twin disk competion clutch
Prodrive stage 2 axles with bigger hubs
Aeromotive 1000hp pump
Aeromotive regulator
full race sump
-8an feed

im getting ready to have erl build my motor soon and they will be putting the girdle on it. looking to make same power. was making 650 with the gt4067

I say yes, those ERL girdles are very nice. Give Sean a call at ERL and he would be happy to explain why they reccomend these. Honda implemented a form of this on the K series engines with the split crank case. Im sure it was done for a reason.

Block has darton sleeves in it. Only reason I ask cause its gonna set me back a little on getting the car done.
I will be pushing close to 40 psi and whatever power I make.
I just dont want to go through bearings. I do have arp main studs in there now.

I think dart blocks have stronger and bigger main caps. I think they're different material than factory.
