How to launch
You launch by revving the motor up, and tehn letting out the clutch. You want to minimize wheelspin, without bogging. Give it a try, and then use your 60 foot times to analyze how well you are doing.
Apeed shifting is hell on your tranny, it's your choice if you want to do it or not.
In my DSM, I use the clutch, but I don't lift off the gas. That keeps me form having to build boost in every gear.

Im launching at arounf 3000-3500 rpm. Im still getting good amount of wheel spin. Dont rev your motor and pop the clutch. Try to easy it out in the beginning and than let it go. I cant really explain it. Just practice a lot.
Sub-2000 lb CRX HF, turbo B18B, Azenis and the wrong spring rates for straight line traction:
I launch at 2800 rpm, sometimes barely chirping the tires. I have good traction through first if I don't mess up the launch because I have to shift before I spool, it seems. I take my foot mostly off the gas when shifting into second (otherwise uncontrollable wheelspin) and feather the pedal back to WOT so I don't lose control.
Play around a bit, see what works for you.

IF you have turbo NO DO NOT power shift unless you have no revlimiter or some type of engine management. With turbo you don't even need to bang gears just shift fast and smooth, and don't drop the clutch just let it out smooth. That way you will get less wheel spin.
I used to launch at 5500 and feathered it until I got traction. When you practice it a lot you get a feel for it. Now I launch at around 3400 and can put it to the floor quite a ways through first. I always preload the clutch and pop it on launch. Hopefully with drag radials I can keep it pegged all the way through first. Once you find that balance it's pretty cool

Why would you not want to have a rev limiter? That's hella sketchy.
In my car, I most certainly want to shift as fast as possible, and there is NO reason to slip the clutch after I grab the next gear. However, I have AWD. You FWD guys just need to try a bunch of things, and see what works best for you. Minimize wheelsipn, while still putting the most power to the ground possible.
