How do you know when the seals in your turbo go bad?
I have a turbonetics t3/t4 turbo, and for a while every now and again I would have smoke comming out of my exhaust. Then, the other day, I heard somewhat of a pop, and it hasn't built boost since, and makes this really high pitched whining noise, and I have more smoke comming out of my exhaust. I checked all my intercooler couplers to make sure they were in good condition and tight, to make sure it wasn't just the boost leaking out makeing that noise, and they were all good. The only thing I can think of now is that it is blown seals. Any opinions?

are you burning oil at a considerable rate? you could pull the charge pipe off the turbo and see if there is a bunch of oil in it, that is usually a sign of a blown turbo seal. take a look at that and report back

Re: (big-cat)
It doesn't sound like it's spinning freely. It sounds fucked up, or at least I got a fucked up sound comming from the turbo when it starts to spool.
