how do i pull the rocker rails from the head?
im trying to pull the rockers and the rails from the head so we can replace lost motion assemblies, and we got the cams out, the caps to the rails off, and a screw, threaded it in, and tried pulling the rails out...no go, they're not moving
can someone tell me how to remove them?
the rockers are zip tied together so they dont fall off when i pull the rail...i just dunno how to do it

Getting the rocker shafts out: (a Helms manual would be a great investment)
Remove the 10mm allen head plugs (part #1)
Remove the driver side cam cap/cam seal caps.
There are two alignment pins (parts #3 and #4) under the caps that need to be removed. Pull out by treading a proper thread bolt inside and pull strait up.
The rockershafts will slide out. I suggest using rubber bands or zip ties to hold together the rocker arm assemblies while apart.
But I'm pretty sure you can remove the lma's without having to remove the rocker arms/shafts? Just pivot the rocker arms all the way up.

Re: how do i pull the rocker rails from the head? (SLPR)
i have a helm's..at home..cuz my friend borrowed it..and im up at school lol
we just didnt remove those alignment dowels( 3 & 4), after that, they slid right out thanks guys
we tried removing them but the very edge of the assembly gets caught on the rocker...
then when we tried to slide the rails out...they wont clear the fender! doh! oh well, he's gotta do headgasket anyway so we're just gonna pull the head

Yea I was gonna mention that. It kinda sucks once the head is on and you still have to install the valvetrain. Been there once, something I will never forget again.
