Default How To Build Boost Quicker.

Thats exactly what the question I need to know.
How to build boost faster??

I am running Hondata 2B, with a Greddy Profec B spec-II, and an Apexi Turbo timer.
Thats about it for electronics.
As for the motor
D16Y8
Built Bottem end
Comp Cam
520cc Msd injectors
Precision SC50
Other goodies as well

It has been tuned to 9psi as low boost and 15psi as a high boost setting. It takes a while to even hit 9psi as far as 15psi goes, I havent hit it yet.

Anything I can do to solve this problem??

The only way to build boost quicker is to slap a nitrous kit on there. Im running a 35shot with my turbo set up.. Plan to shift fast...

you can also set your gain higher and it will spool quicker but make sure you dont overboost!

with a 3inch dp... you should be spooling...

i'd 2nd the check for leaks suggestion. I was getting great boost response before... replaced a random coupler that turns out to have been leaking a bit. Now my spool is even faster.

are you tuned in the lower boost levels? when I do cars starting with .9 or .8 degree per PSI and then change to a step retard with little or no timing taken out to 3 PSI I noticed at least 200 rpm faster spool and sometimes up to 500 rpm.

Switch to a ball bearing turbo :-D

Anyways, definetly check for leaks in the system, and look for any restrictions. A test pipe (cat delete) will give you a quicker spool. A smaller turbo will spool quicker, but you'll lose top end.

read the manual for the profec spec 2; it tells you how to set the gain; start boost and all that ****.

set the stat boost higher or set the gain higher; there is so much **** you can do with that boost controller; just read the manual and test it out.

It doesn't sound like you have any problem with boost spiking so your wastegate is probably opening way too early
