How big of a shot would be safe?
the setup:
d16z6 Greddy Turbo 13-15 psi(haven't decided)
Dsm 450cc injectors
s-afc hack
Ross 9.4:1 comp pistons
Eagle rods
Walbro intank fuel pump
I want to run nitrous with it also but i want to do a 75 shot but i dunno if it would be ok with stock sleeves what do you think? or should i just do a 50 shot?
my goals are(on drag radials): mid to high 13's without the nitrous but 12's with the nitrous.
any opinions good or bad will be useful.

On a stock sleeve, you're pushing it running 13-15lbs of boost plus nitrous. Your best bet is to use a dry kit to cool the intake charge, maybe run just a 25 shot. A 25 shot on a turbo/sc motor has seen results of 50+ whp just for cooling the charge. If you want to run a decent shot plus that much boost, you'll need to get that block resleeved.
Hey RicerRacing69....what was your setup on the juiced LS for that 14.18? That's a good time for a 55 shot

what kits can shoot that low? zex only goes down to 55 and nx and nos i thoguht the lowest were 50...
should i just look into a sneaky pete kit? and just buy a bigger bottle?
i need more info and more opinions....
thanks for the help

yeah your gonna want to sleeve the block with that much abuse. i would also go with what everyone is saying and do the 25 shot to cool it down. it does work.
well covert do you think i would be fine with a 50 shot? i might even just get a direct port kit if this guy is willing to trade.....
i'll call up the companies to see what's the lowest shot...

it is a hard call. personally i would just buy the kit if it is a good deal. but how fast is your car already. most of the guys on this site are not even on the bottle. even with my t3/t4 i have a quick *** spool. i would wait to see how your car does as is.
hmmm ok after the rebuild and everything and it's all broken in i'll take it to the track and see how close i am to my goal.....but i still want to run the nitrous....
i don't want thenitrous to spool it up faster cause my greddy turbo spools up like nothing... i just want it for the extra power.
thanx for the help btw

If you want a N2O system I have mine up for sale with bottle heater, blanket, and autometer bottle pressure gauge f/s with some custom made shot sizes i have bored. If you want a 25 shot, i can make you one, PM me if your interested.
a wet kit is when you mix gas and nitrous into the intake charge, such as nitrous express or nos brand. a dry kit is just spraying nitrous into the intake charge, such as the zex kit. ive heard people get better results with a wet kit.
Getting the right size jets won't be a problem at all. You can order any size they make for NOS from jegs. And the smaller sizes are common because of direct port kits (since they would be using 4 nozzels each jet is smaller that just using one.
I knew what the diference was. i just don't get why people were telling me a dry would cool better.
so a wet kit would work better?
cause i don't want to lean out that's what i'm afraid of.

For a small sized shot say 25-50 to cool the intake charge, dry is the setup to go with. If you are doing it for power, and want to go higher than that with a built motor, go direct port.
well i really want it for power but while doin that cool the intake charge...but i think i'm just gonna stick with a 50 shot....
anyone got a NOS kit? im me.....

yeah i'm trying to find one local if possible thoguh....but if it comes down to it ebay is the way to go
THanks for all the help.

hey my friend might be selling his direct port kit so i was wondering if the cooling efficiency is any less on that then on a dry kit....
thanx
