Default horrible vaccum leak......

A buddy of mine is having a major problem with a vaccum leak. We have checked all vaccum sources that we can think of and we have not found anything. Any suggestions as to where else we can look. We checked all vaccum lines, the Charcoal cannaster that sits next to the battery on the firewall, the IM, He is currently running a turbo setup and we checked all vaccum lines. Has anyone had any problems with the charcoal cannaster before or can someone offer up some suggestions as to where whe could look!

Thanks in advance!

Kevin

The car is idiling up and down, but the problem is..... It does it off and on. It does not do it at all times, but when it does do it, it is up down up down up down, and quite noticable. thats what leads me to believe that its a vaccum leak.

It may also be a low coolant level that would cause that . have you checked the coolant ?

Thanks for the quick replys. It was weird, all of a sudden, he started to throw a CEL and we checked it and it was the IAC valve. he put a new one on and it seems to be idiling much better! Coolant was a little low also. So all info was helpful!

Thanks for the help!

I had the same problem, check everything that has been mentioned and I never found the problem. But when I sold my last turbo kit and out it back to factory all of a sudden I didn't have a vac leak anymore. Not sure where it was coming from but it was def a leak that had something to do with my turbo

Its weird, because he has been boosted for a while, but recently upgraded from a Drag 3 turbo to the Sc-61 and he all of a sudden has a vaccum leak. We are gonna check it again today to see what we come up with. Thanks again for all the quick responses!

Another thing it might be and you might want to try this, but the vac line that is coming off the turbo, run another line from there and block it off with a screw and tell me if that fixes the problem. I know it sounds kinda stupid but try it and see if it works
